The gifted Emirati opera star will perform her interpretation of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s famous song, composed in 1915, accompanied by members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Written for soprano or tenor, with piano accompaniment, the piece contains no words, but is sung using only one vowel of the singer’s choosing. The iconic American-born Craig Leon, responsible for seminal albums in both popular and classical music, will produce the project.
