An evening of truly unique sounds as one of the most sought-after violinists of her generation joins The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) a renowned ensemble of masters performing on period instruments from the 18th and 19th century. Nicola Benedetti’s ability to captivate audiences with her innate musicianship and dynamic presence, coupled with her wide appeal as a high-profile advocate for classical music, has made her one of the most influential classical artists of today. She performs with one of the UK’s finest ensembles, famed for their innovative approach to orchestral music. Benedetti will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No.4, directed by OAE’s concertmaster, before performing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 while she also directs the orchestra. The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment bring together an evocative sound that resounds with historic authenticity, yet they redefine classical music too – a combination that excites as it confirms not all orchestras are the same.
